What it does today
- Reads IFC2x3, IFC4, IFC4X1, IFC4X2 and IFC 4.3 models as STEP text, IFC-XML and IFC-ZIP
- Describes a model: its encoding, release, header, the count of each entity, the project, its units and currency, and how many schema violations it has
- Lists every violation of the schema's type rules, each with its instance, entity and attribute, a page at a time
- Writes a model as STEP text, IFC-XML or IFC-ZIP, upgraded to a newer release when asked, and reports every value the upgrade changed or lost, or refuses an upgrade that would lose one
- Sessions that read a file once for several questions, and batches of operations run in one process
How it is verified
Scenarios and batches run through the operation handlers, the C API and the command-line program on small models, and a C11 program tests the C API's handle rules. Reading, checking and upgrading are those of the ifc and step libraries and their tests.
